Subject: Judith Miller's membership...
Judith Miller at msjess@earthlink.net is not listed as member of the
ICG-BOD mailing list. She is subscribed at earthlink.net

That is why you can not post to the list from that address.

I have added msjess@earthlink.net to the list as a No Mail member.

This will allow her to post to the list.

Folks remember, you must post to the list using the *same* address in
your from field that you used to subscribed to the list.

Group: ICG-BOD Message: 907 From: Byron Connell Date: 10/29/2002
Subject: Re: Address [was Judith Miller's membership...]
Last evening, I discovered that Yahoogroup is bouncing my mail. For no
reason that I can discern, it decided I no longer was a member at my
home address and required me to resubscribe.

I have done so and hope that all will be well, but if I had not kept a
duplicate ICG-BOD address I would have been cut off completely.

Subject: The ICG Newsletter, Volume I, Issue 2 available for preview and com
Hi, folks!

By my count, I think we have enough votes to pass the motion. Although
the decision isn't official, I have gone ahead and put finishing touches
on Issue 2 with the understanding that I will be receiving the official
Okie Dokey at the end of this week and that Sharon Trembley will be
generating mailing labels on or about the 1st of November (Friday). I am
expecting a Treasurer's report from her, which I should receive after
October 31, to give everyone a last chance to get their updates in to
Sharon.

Please have a look at Issue 2 and let me know if you have any comments.
Note that for the purposes of conversion to PDF, the layout may look a
little odd. The format issue will go away when the document is actually
printed and copied.

Issue 2 may be found here:
http://www.hawkeswood.com/samples/icgnewsletter-200211-12.PDF

For the purposes of maintaining something resembling a regular schedule,
this issue will be copied and mailed the first week in November,
assuming I have all the pieces in my possession (labels, postage and
copies).

The next issue will be out the first week in January (Vol. II, Issue 1),
and the last of the approved issues will be out the first week in March
(Vol. II, Issue 2). The next issue after that is not presently approved,
but should be due out the beginning of May if approval is received.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Thanks!

Group: ICG-BOD Message: 910 From: C. D. Mami Date: 10/29/2002
Subject: Motion Passed
With today's vote the motion has passed with 11 yes votes
one no vote and 9 votes not committed
With 11 votes we have over 51% of the vote and to continue can not change the results.
I would ask in the future all vote be made directly to the BOD list and not to me personally.
It was brought to my attention that the dues may not cover next years budget. In short we will have to raise them.
We also need to decide the CQ issue.
And last but not least we need to decide on a dues structure (when the money is due and how it is to be paid.
I would like feed back from each of you on these issues.
I would like to know how your members feel on these issues.
I know all of you are busy but we need to get as much ready for April and before as we can.
Some of the issues are business issues (like the Costume Con thing) and can be decided with out any real time and they should be.
The rest will require more work.
Both the president and myself would like to thank those who took the time to vote.
How you vote is never an issue but voting is important.
We (the Board) are the rudder that steers the ship, we (all of us ) have the task of making sure that we hit no snags and should we then we must be able to repair any damage.
The president has asked that I pass along her thanks for your understanding of her time problems and wanted me to say that she will be back with us shortly.

Vice President

Yesterday, I said that Yahoogroups reported that it was bouncing my mail
and required me to resubscribe. Last night, I was unable to get on line at
all from my home computer. We use Road Runner; Tina's computer is on
the same line, and she has had no problems, so I suspect I've got a
hardware problem. :(

For now, I continue to receive BOD messages at my work computer, but I
don't have access to this account when I'm not at my desk (e.g., evenings
and weekends). I also will switch ICG-D to this computer.

There's no telling how long it may take for me to return to on-line access
at home.

Group: ICG-BOD Message: 913 From: ICG-BOD@yahoogroups.com Date: 11/1/2002
Subject: File - mailing-lists.txt
Administrivia: About the ICG mailing lists.

Due to a crash of the Best List Server in early October,
the ICG mailing lists were moved to eGroups. When the
server came back up, the membership decided it liked eGroups.

The ICG has 2 mailing lists, the ICG General Discussion (ICG-D)
list and the ICG Board of Directors (ICG-BOD) list.

ICG-D is intended for, but not limited to, the general membership
of the International Costumers' Guild.

ICG-BOD is intended for, and limited to, the members of the
International Costumers' Guild Board of Directors as defined
by Article 5, Section 1 of the ICG Bylaws and those non-voting
parties as invited by the BOD to provide commentary.

To post to the lists use the following addresses:

ICG-D@egroups.com for general membership discussion.
ICG-BOD@egroups.com for officer level discussions.

To subscribe, please see the Subscription HowTo contained
in subscribe.txt for instructions.

Notes:

Policies of the ICG-D and ICG-BOD mailing list:

1) No Flaming. The moderator will issue one and only one warning.

If the flaming continues, all parties flaming will be unsubscribed.

2) No detailed discussion of the actual making of costumes.

"Huh?" you say. When this list was set up, its intention was
not to draw traffic away other costuming lists such as
H-Costume, F-Costume, Vintage, etc, but to promote discussion
about the ICG and costuming in general between members.

Detailed discussions will be encouraged to move or cross post
to one of the other lists.

3) If someone directly requests the moderator to subscribe/unsubscribe
them they will be sent this message and the moderator will
subsingle/unsubscribe them.

4) No SPAM! Suspect addresses in subscription requests will have their
identity verified.

5) No Chain Letters. I know some of them pull at your heart strings
or have you fearing for your hard drive, but most are inaccurate
(at best), out-of-date or fake (at worst).

6) Severely off-topic discussions or violations of these few policies
will flagged by a message from the moderator with [RIP]* in the
subject line. Further discussion after the posting of the [RIP]
message should be taken to private eMail.

7) No viral advertising! Do not send messages with advertisements
attached. It is bad enough we have to put up with the ads attached
to the free eMail accounts, without members taking the conscious act
of attaching advertising. I consider these one step above SPAM.

8) Subscribers whose accounts bounces mail will be deactivated.

"If messages sent to a member are consistently returned"
will deactivate your account from stop sending the mailing
list to your address.

For freemail account holders (Hotmail, Juno, Excitemail, etc)
Please be aware you account has limitations and will bounce
mail when you exceed you quota or have a full mailbox.

Subject: The ICG Newsletter, Vol. II, Issue 2 is now at Kinko's...
...And I expect to be picking it up sometime in the next week, as soon
as Sharon's check arrives. Hopefully it, together with the mailing
labels and postage, will be in the mail at the end of next week.

There have been a few layout changes since the version I posted a few
days ago. Most notably, Sharon has provided me with a very brief
Treasurer's report. The next issue (Jan/Feb) will have space for an
expansion on her report, and she intends to provide more details about
our financial status then.

I'll be polishing Vol II, Issue 1 in late December, for an early January
printing. Please be sure to have your Treasurers get their annual
updates in to Sharon promptly, so we don't miss anyone in the next
mailing.

Thanks!

Betsy

Subject: Future Fashion Show
Now that the Folio is in the mail, I wanted to put my two cents in so I can
get as many participants in the show as possible. I will, of course, be
sending out more information in the future but I've included the basic "How
to Reserve a Design" instructions below.
There are lots of fun and do-able designs in this folio, and....
YOU HAVE 5 MONTHS TO DO THEM IN!!!!!
I'd consider that sufficient lead time. So pick something out and get your
reservations in to me as soon as you get your Folios (RSN).
No excuses!

How to Reserve a Design for the Future Fashion Show

The Fashion Week 2003 Show will be held on Sunday, April 20, 2003 in
conjunction with Costume-Con 21. I hope you want to participate by creating
one of the fabulous designs in the Future Fashion Folio; join us by
following the simple directions below.

1. Designers have first choice of their own designs. Designs already chosen
are marked next to the design. The 15 day waiting period is waived for
Designers. If they have not already done so, Designers may reserve upon
receipt of their Folios.
2. All remaining designs (not already reserved by Designer) are available
for CC21 members to choose.
3. To assure fairness, no reservations will be accepted by the Fashion Show
Director until 15 days after the postmark date on your folios (November 17,
2002).
4. When submitting a request, please select three designs and indicate order
of preference. If your first choice has already been reserved, I can then
reserve your next choice for you.
5. For convenience, reservations can be made via either regular or
electronic mail. However, e-mail requests will be held for an extra week to
allow regular mail requests to arrive. Reservations may NOT be made by
phone. Include your name, address, phone number and e-mail (if available)
with your request.
6. Requests will be honored in order by their postmark date or e-mail date
stamp (after allowing for the one week waiting period for e-communication)
not order received.
7. You may make up more than one design but may appear on stage only once.
Secondary requests will be considered after the primary requests have been
honored. You must have other bodies/people to wear the additional
design(s). If you need help finding a model I will try and help but it
would be preferable if you could provide your own.
8. All Fashion Show participants must be attending members of Costume-Con
21.

I will send you a reservation confirmation via either e-mail or regular mail
(let me know if you have a notification preference) as soon as possible so
that you may begin shopping for materials and construction. Some designs
may have color renderings which will be available upon request, subject to a
copying and postage fee (or they can be scanned and sent via e-mail). I am
available by e-mail (preferred), regular mail or phone (after the
reservation process) for questions and information.

I will be checking with you several times before the show so I'll be able to
design the show and script in advance. Plus, I'll just want to know how you
're doing! There will be a rehearsal at CC21 (check in with me at the Con)
prior to the show.

Subject: ** Action Required ** 2002 ICG Budget Increase Approval
The Motion:
Approve the expenditure of $127.04 for ICG plaques awarded at ConJose.

This is going backwards since the money was already spent so that's
why we got to do this quickly so I can reimburse Carl for a receipt
sent to me yesterday afternoon.

Since there was no Lifetime Achievement award this year, if you're
willing to consider this as a substitute it still doesn't work
smoothly without BOD approval. The Lifetime Achievement award was
only budgeted for $60 in 2002. The ICG President may use her
discretion to raise that by only 15%.

And in case you're wondering why I waited to make this motion, I did
not know of the expense till a couple of weeks ago, and at that time
the amount was unknown.

Subject: ICG Newsletter - Lost Souls and Issue 2
Hi, folks!

Volume I, Issue 2 will be in the mail on Tuesday (tomorrow is a holiday,
which I forgot!).

I now have a list of Lost Souls. These people either do not have an
address listed with the ICG (which makes their memberships invalid in
the event of a vote which requires their proxies), or have moved, or
posted incorrect addresses in our system. This list is below.

Please pass this message on to the appropriate individuals (either
Treasurers or the individuals themselves) and ask them to get in touch
with me ASAP for an address correction.

Chapters who send their update lists in to Sharon may be able to acquire
back issues until all copies are gone. We are keeping records of the
recipients of each issue at least until all membership issues have been
resolved.

Thanks!

Betsy

All potential members are vetted by the moderator,
who may make inquires to the ICG President,
Treasurer or the ICG BOD at large as to the
requester's identity.

Membership elegablity is based on Article V,
Section 1, of the ICG Bylaws, with extenstions.

Non-Voting Members:
One Second Representive per Local Chapter
Chairperson of each of the ICG Commitees

Group: ICG-BOD Message: 947 From: ICG-BOD@yahoogroups.com Date: 12/1/2002

* I originally used Rip as in the sense of a ripping seam, but when
capitalized, its other meaning worked as well.

I've got a pile of returned newsletters at the post office, but haven't

The new Lost Souls section will be appearing in the next issue. It
already contains 20 names, mostly from CGW.

Thanks, and have a great holiday season!

Subject: time to work
Hello Everyone
It is time to start to think of the things we need to do right after the first of the year to be ready for CC-21

First ICG lifetime achievements awards We did NOT give one last year lets not let another year go by with out one ok

The sick pups are nominating Kathy Saunders

Lets see if we can get some names here and a vote in time to get the plaques

We have to decide what to do with the CQ and we need to do that before CC-21

On Jan 7 2003 I will call a roll call of all chapters to make sure each chapter is on the board and has a vote. Each chapter will have 2 weeks to respond with the name and e-mail address of their board member.

This is your chapters voice if you wish to vote make sure we know who you are and who you represent.

I will be calling roll each month until we meet at CC-21

I would like each chapter board member to e-mail me off list with their address so I can make sure you know what is happening and can vote when needed

Now go and enjoy the holidays and think about who deserves the life time award

C. D. Mami
Vice President
