You might want to toss the "unlucky" rabbit foot for a living (lucky) one.

talismans for my ride with Henry or Enrique (whoever shows up)?

Wreath of Garlic and Chili Peppers to wear as a necklace, and
eau-de-mustard perfume.

Dear Mary Alice:

I got into the site and the photos are marvelous. The costumes were
great; especially Hound Dog, but then again I'm a Stitch fanatic. Only one
of them really gave me the creeps and that was Mad Rimmer. I don't watch
the series, but I know the sounds of a psychopath when I hear one. Not
good. However, for people who do like the series, there is apparently a
movie version coming out in 2004.

hmmmmm Scarab? Spell bag of herbs for travel saftey? Holy Water? Salt
for dispelling evil spirits. Incense "wand" for daubing the car with
santified incense? hmmmm stone with a hole in it is very strong magic. Any
stone with a nice shape that feels comfortable in you hand. Red thread
and/or rowan (mountain ash) berries which ward of mischeivous and dangerous
spirit? Juniper berries for protection? anise seed under your pillow the
night before to ward off nightmares? hmmmmm Statue of the Goddess? St.
Christoper medal or statue? Chinese luck money? amulet/statue of Thor,
God of travellers? last will and testament...nononononono...that's not a
protection. Contract on Henry and Enrique in case either of them doesn't
get you there safely? (hey, it might me an insentive.) Lavender for
safety, peace, and protection? Shaman, priest (Christian, Buddist, pangan,
etc. One of each) priestess, to travel with you/meet you in Chicago to
bless the car? Statue of Kali, since she was a protective Goddess for
women? red beads strung on red thread?
I'll look up a few things and see if I can find any more ideas.

If you want an exact list of herbs for warding off evil,
exorcising demons or evil spirits, safe travel, protection, breaking hexes,
peace let me know. I've got the book handy because I'm doing a workshop on
herbal magic for Toronto Trek, and I need to make notes.
Oh, and I just know that this is the one that will be stuck after
the masquerade, and I'll have no time to change before getting there. Hey,
would you listen to a corpse tell you about herbal magic? All right, not a
corpse, a ghost...but it's the ghost of a cropse...soooooooo

Hello!

If someone needs crash space, I would be happy to have a roomie. These are
the specs:

It is a king sized bed, which we will be sharing. Having shared such a bed
in the past, I doubt we would even notice each other without the aid of
flare guns, an air raid siren or REALLY LOUD snoring.

It is a non-smoking room. No exceptions!

I would prefer a female roomie. Not that I mind male company, but one must
consider one's reputation!

I'm not a big partier, so no in-room fiestas please. (Though I do like
guacamole . . . ;)

I'd prefer reimbursement for the room nights up front. That way, I can go
berserk in the dealer's room!

I'll be staying from Thursday night to Monday morning.

There! That's it! Any takers?

His mother suggested safety supplies: inflatible dingy,

Right! Maybe you'd better make it a very big prayer wheel.
Oh, and a statue of Buddah.

No, but what about a Plastic Jesus, like in the song? Oh, and
Linda Bowland has said that there is a nice sized statue of Buddah in Japan,
that would work for this instance. And you could see what the Pope and the
Dali Lama are doing that day. Oh, and do you want me to send you a list of
Catholic saints, who medals are for sale at most Catholic church stores?

Well, she'll be approaching Wisconsin (and that's where Henry will be
starting from), so a statue of Buddah can probably be arranged.

The question is, a statue of what or whom of Buddah?

So, is this what you're wearing to pick Toni up at the train

As much as I dearly want to attend CC21, financial reality says otherwise.

My loving husband told me that either I could go to CC21, or we could go
to TorCon. We have memberships for TorCon, so we'll see people in Toronto.
At least, those that make it.

Maybe I'll actually have a competition costume done in time for TorCon. ;-)

Until later--

Baruch Ha-Car. It's better than the Star of David (includes the
Traveler's Prayer). $20 at Source for Everything Jewish
(http://www.jewishsource.com). Though the Star will probably have to do,
if you don't want to spend the money.

Great Catelog/website for just about everything Jewish, dolls, books,
menorahs, JEWELRY. I've spent a small fortune there.

Mythically yours,
Lisa

Okay. So that you, Toni, Sandy and Pierre, Byron, Henry, Enrique
(better watch that one; the OPP have an all points out on both of them),
and...my mind is shutting down! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Here's hoping. I've got two more dolls to finish then I can get
back to costuming. However, my "Spring Fruitcake" doll is ready to go for
the May swap, so I'm ahead there, but now Allen's girlfriend wants a
fruitcake. sigh.
