03/03/2008--Lifetime Achievement Award nominations are now closed as of 3/3/2008.
The ICG is accepting nominations for the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award. The LAA, the highest honor the ICG pays to costumers, recognizes "a body of achievement in the costuming art and service to the costuming community." Candidates for the award:

09/13/06--You can all breathe a relative sigh of relief; Worldcon and Dragon*Con are over and done with. Of course there's still Archon coming up early next month, so don't think you're off easy!
According to Martin Jacquish, this year's Worldcon masquerade had 33 entries, 15 of which were re-creations, 17 original designs, and 1 with both original and re-creation elements.The largest group numbered 14, making for a total of 90 participants plus one small dog!

09/07/06--Costumers Guild West has chosen to withdraw from the International Costumers Guild. Updates to the officers and chapters pages have been made per their decision. We have added CGW in our resource links page.

Maggie believes that the original list may have come from a Balticon panel that she was on with Sue Toker and others; this list was used at the Media Costuming Panel at Lunacon 2006. 04/23/06:The tentative agenda for the Annual Meeting (held at CC24) is now available at this location for your viewing pleasure. 03/24/06:Carl Mami has resigned as President of the ICG. Nora Mai has become Acting President (A-Pres) for the remainder of the term.
03/24/06: The Greater Bay Area Costumers Guild has withdrawn from the ICG.

The ICG's annual meeting is scheduled for Friday, May 26. Among the issues to be discussed and voted on are the proposed changes to the ICG's Masquerade Guidelines. We urge everyone to read them over at http://www.costume.org/guidelines-committee/.
If you're unable to attend the meeting at CC24, you can still make your thoughts known by filling out a proxy statement (found at http://www.costume.org/documents/proxy.html) and handing it to someone who will be attending.

08/07/2005--As you might have noticed on our front page, Barbara Ann Butcher "Bobbie" Gear, fellow costumer and wife of Marty Gear, passed away on June 25. A special memorial service was held on August 6. The ICG web site was darkened in her honor.

The ICG is pleased to announce that the 2003 Lifetime Achivement Award has been given to Victoria Ridenour and Adrian Butterfield.
